National Junior Honor Society

To be a member of National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), students are invited at the beginning of 4th Quarter in their 7th grade year. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher for the first three quarters in order to receive an invitation. Students are then given an application with documents on how to be interviewed to become a member in their 8th grade year at Mountain Trail Middle School (MTMS).

We Have So Much Fun! Past years' activities have included:

• Tour Guide for Open House/Curriculum Nights

• HopeWalk – Charity walk for HopeKids of AZ

• Buck a Duck to raise money for the Mammal Care Center

• Lollipop Sales to raise money for Mobile Minis

• Relay for Life

• Tour Guide for 6th Grade Parent Nights

• Many activities to practice leadership skills

• Lock In at MTMS

The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, citizenship and to encourage the development of character in students of Mountain Trail Middle School.

National Junior Honor Society Mountain Trail Chapter Oath

“I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the National Junior Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage the high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. I will always seek the light of truth, hold to scholarly habits, engage in worthy service, and to lead forward in all things that shall advance the welfare of the school and the greater community at large.”
