Dress Code

The purpose of our dress code is to promote an environment that is studious and conducive to student learning and success.  We want students to feel free to express their individual style while remaining modest and appropriately dressed for school.

  • Clothing that is considered revealing is not permitted. Baring one’s abdomen, back, chest, or buttocks or wearing clothing that falls off the shoulder is not allowed.

  • Tops or dresses with spaghetti straps are not permitted unless worn over another shirt or under another shirt or a jacket. Tops with low-cut armholes are not permitted unless another shirt is worn underneath.

  • Clothing allowing undergarments to show is inappropriate.

  • Clothing promoting alcohol, illegal substances, tobacco, sexual connotations, violence or that contains a message contrary to our shared community or educational goals are not permitted.

  • Sleepwear, including slippers, is not permitted, or appropriate for school.

  • Footwear (shoes or sandals) must be worn at all times.  Sandals may not be worn during P.E.

  • Chains or spikes of any kind are not permitted.

  • Hats and sunglasses are permitted outside, but must be removed upon entering the building.

Decisions as to the appropriateness of dress rest with the school administration. The dress code is in effect at all school events regardless of the time of day.

When a student is found in violation of the dress code, he/she is sent to the nurse to change and a phone call will be made to the parent or guardian of the student.

Continuing infractions will result in additional disciplinary action.
